Even on a cold winter day before World War I, King St.
looking west from Yonge was a busy place and, although there may be
more cars and trucks today, pedestrian traffic was just as heavy. King St. was originally named Duke St. after the Duke
of York, but the name was changed to honor his father, King George III.
The office of The Toronto Star then The Daily Star was on the right
side of the street at 18 King W.
