Matted: Yonge Street Streetcar, 1929
It was a hot day in August 1929, when the photographer aimed his camera north on busy Yonge St. at Queen St. and captured a view that may be remembered by oldtimers, but is now gone forever. Streetcars added to the busy life of Toronto's main artery, but, it was only 1929, and the first subway would not be built until 1951.
